Located just 30 miles apart, Port St. Lucie and Vero Beach couldn’t be more different!
Port St. Lucie is much larger and more populated than Vero Beach and because of that, there is dense traffic and congestion. But, if you are looking for more options in terms of shopping, dining and amenities, Port St. Lucie offers a large variety, including plenty of chain restaurants and stores along with mom-and-pop dining.
Conversely, Vero Beach is smaller, less populated and much quieter, offering residents more locally-owned restaurants and boutiques with a few chain options. The cost of living, taxes and home prices are a bit more expensive in Port St. Lucie than Vero Beach. There are more year-round residents and jobs in Port St. Lucie whereas Vero Beach tends to be a little more seasonal. Both cities have phenomenal parks, water access, and outdoor festivals perfect for enjoying the Florida lifestyle. The big question to ask yourself is, do you enjoy the hustle and bustle of an amenity-rich city or the more relaxed pace of a quiet beach town?
