You can experience nearly 88 species of butterflies in an open-range, natural habitat at Arnold’s Butterfly Haven located in Okeechobee, just a short 1-hour drive from Vero Beach. Arnold’s Butterfly Haven is a half-acre, free-ranging butterfly garden in the shape of the Zebra Longwing, Florida’s State Butterfly. It contains over 2000 native larval and nectar plants, specific to indigenous butterfly species.

Florida’s year-round warm climate and extended growing season makes butterfly viewing an excellent choice for outdoor recreation. The hottest summer months of August and September are the most active time for all of the different butterfly species in their natural breeding and feeding grounds at Arnold’s Butterfly Haven. The garden provides a tranquil and enriching experience for entomologists, botanists, biologists, students or anyone who wishes to observe, study or photograph butterflies in an open, natural habitat.

Arnold’s Butterfly Haven is an extension of the animal conservation and rehabilitation efforts of Arnold’s Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. It is located at 14895 N.W. 30th Terrace, Okeechobee, FL and is open 7 days a week from 9:00am – 4:00pm.
