WEDNESDAY WISDOM | Did you know…
You can kayak with manatees at Round Island Park. Manatees are marine mammals known as sea cows because their peaceful nature and plant-based diet is similar to cows on land. When the winter gets chilly, manatees that migrate and those that stay along the Treasure Coast all year congregate in and around the warm waters of spring-fed creeks or head to canals in search of fresh water to drink. One of the best viewing locations where you’re almost guaranteed to see a manatee is Round Island Park. This is a favorite spot for locals and visitors to launch their kayaks or canoes. The Park has access to both the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian River Lagoon. There are trails, boardwalks, an observation tower, boat ramp & boat parking, a playground and two picnic pavilions, and ample parking.
Spend the day kayaking with manatees at Round Island Park located at 2200 South A1A, Vero Beach, FL 32963. Click here for more information: https://visitindianrivercounty.com/item_category/manatee-viewing/
